ABOUT GLASS CLOSET
Robert Quintana Hopkins' debut collection of poems and essays, Glass Closet, was published in 2009 by AfroChicano Press. This poetic memoir reflects the experiences of a man formed at the intersection of Mexican and African- America. Containing poems such as "Border Crossers," "AfroChicano," "Can a Closet Have Glass Walls?," "Intergenerational Trauma," and "Child of God," Glass Closet has universal relevance, appealing to those seeking a candid voice that speaks the language of hope and transformation; and to those seeking to understand race, culture, gender and sexuality.
He is currently working on a collection of poems, essays and interviews entitled “Glimpses of Freedom,” and in his free time, Robert facilitates workshops that promote writing as a tool for healing and personal development.
